Back in the Groove delivers affordable and accessible exercise sessions and OTAGO Falls Prevention programmes for people with disabilities and Long Term Conditions living in Waveney. Our classes are all offered on a ‘pay what you can afford’ basis. We believe that affordability should not be a barrier to keeping healthy and mobile.
Our classes are popular with people with memory issues, Parkinson’s, Arthritis, Stroke survivors and carers. Our instructor has a level 3 exercise referral qualification which means that doctors and other health professionals can refer patients to our classes.
Our chair-based classes are great fun, using music to engage people with exercises that improve mobility, coordination, strength, heart and lung health, core stability and posture. Our friendly groups also help with mental well-being and reducing loneliness.
Our OTAGO falls prevention programme helps people maintain or regain strength and balance, it’s been clinically proven to reduce the risk of falls.
We also offer a free outreach programme for community groups and charities. We talk about what exercise is best for different Long Term Conditions and give tips on staying healthy and active in later life.
Our classes are very popular, so we encourage people to get in touch before coming along.
