The Wayward Adventurers Guild helps people of all ages to create their own fantasy worlds, characters and stories.
We particularly support introverted and neurodiverse adults and children with their confidence, personal expression, communication, and mental health through fantasy worldbuilding, and 50% of our profits are reinvested back into this endeavour.
Through our educational and immersive fantasy worldbuilding experiences and illustrated resources, we help adventurers to express their ideas, emotions, and ambitions through fantasy storytelling. We believe failure, risk-taking and independent thinking and making are vital skills, and creativity and fantasy worlds allow us to explore this safely.
Our activities are designed to be open-ended and self-paced, with a focus on exploring visual language and providing the tools for constructing and comprehending rich and immersive worlds.
Our Services
Worldbuilding Experiences
We specialise in creating fantasy drawing and worldbuilding workshops, courses, activities, and resources that cater to your specific needs and interests.
Some examples of what our bespoke collaborations could include:
Character Design
Fantasy mapmaking
Fantasy environment design
Comics and graphic novels
Modelmaking
We focus on creating a comfortable and supportive environment for introverts and neurodiverse Adventurers. Our experiences provide the time and space for independent creativity and personal expression, and we prioritise imagination and ideas over technical ability and drawing skills. Our workshops included illustrated resources for participants to take home.
Previously we’ve created a programme of workshops for Norfolk Libraries and Norfolk Heritage Centre, and the Summer Reading Challenge.
Illustrated Trails
We work with organisations to create bespoke illustrated trails. We’ve previously created a Dragon Trail for Dragon Hall and the National Centre for Writing in Norwich with a group of young people, and a Dragon Trail for St. George’s Guildhall in King’s Lynn.
We strive to create immersive and accessible interpretation for venues, and to bring history to life with a creative, fantasy twist.
Art Packs
We create bespoke, illustrated packs of art materials and illustrated worldbuilding activities for specific groups and communities.
The Wayward Adventurers Guild began as three art packs, and 900 were donated through Dorset food banks. We’ve also created a comics guide for children who’ve lost a sibling, superhero drawing activities for young carers, and character design activities to accompany food bundles in Dorset.
Fantasy can provide a safe framework to explore personal stories, emotions and obstacles, and we aim to create a comfortable and supportive space for adventurers to explore these.
